We at European Cycle Events are taking the bold step of organising a Sportive (Gran Fondo) ,in Italy. We are gearing up to make this an annual event and slowly building it year on year so why not be one of the riders to say “I rode the first one.”
I have been to Bormio twice a year for the last 8 years and as a result I have made many great contacts , as a result I have decided to organise and run Stelvio Tre Modi – ( the translation means Stelvio 3 ways )
This event has come about from talking to our customers and trying to come up with something different. Some riders maybe scratching their heads thinking where’s the third way up the Stelvio, well is the little known Umbrail which was last used as the final climb for the Queens stage of the 100th Giro won by Vicenzo Nibali.
The Stelvio is the most famous pass in Italy for cyclists, in fact in Europe (well that maybe up for debate). It has featured in the Giro d’italia on numerous occasions with GC contenders laying down the foundations for victory on these slopes. The Stelvio towers over Bormio and reaches 2758m high which I believe is the highest pass in Europe and is absolutely amazing, no doubt about it. We have all seen numerous pictures and videos on the Internet, well now is your chance to have the full experience in each and every way on the Stelvio Pass.
We believe we are the first tour operator to offer our customers the option to pay via instalment at no extra charge. It’s very simple how it works , please see the table below and payments must be made by standing order,
If you wish to pay via instalments it will be a £100 deposit and monthly for the balance – full payment details will be available soon.
Please note monthly payments must reach us on the last week day of the month. A missed payment will result in the full balance being due by the 14th of the following missed payment month, failure to pay the due balance will result in all previous payments being non-refundable and your booking cancelled.
If at any point you cancel your booking our terms and conditions fall into play – please refer to our 21 days refund terms.
If you require further information/clarification on monthly payments please do not hesitate to contact us via email or phone .
Please note Single room supplement is not included , neither is bike transport, the latter is a complete separate payment.
Ever wanted to be an investor in an event which is part of the sport that you love and enjoy, then look no further. We at European Cycle Events have been organising trips to Italy attending all the top Gran Fondo’s many years (18+). As a result of this I have gathered a vast amount of experience and knowledge including riding 43 events. With this in mind I have taken on board what is offered to riders before, during and after events. As a result I have decided to organise my own event in Bormio – Italy for July 2022 named Gran Fondo Tre Modi (www.stelviotremodi.com) translated means Stelvio 3 ways, with an initial target of 200 riders for the first event.
To run this event and others I am thinking about I will be setting up a new company with shareholders, this company will have access to things such as the database of riders from ECE to advertise and build a field for this event.
For such a venture I am looking to raise capital and looking to investors to come on board and benefit in a number of ways. I am looking to raise £49,999 at £1 per share with the minimum investment being £250.00. Should companies or individuals wish to invest higher amounts that’s not an issue, the remaining shares (50,001) will be retained by myself.
What will investors money will be used for, promote/advertise the event in places such as magazines, Facebook, Sportive events in the UK, venue gathering for presentations such as cycle cafes e.g Giro in Esher, possibly top cycle road shops ,publicity free bees. In addition the cost of bringing ex-pros to the event which adds value to the event. I have contacts such as Ale Vanotti (ex-pro with Astana and Luqigas) who was domestique to V.Nibali when he won the TDF, also I have the contact of Johan Museeuw (3 times Paris-Roubaix and Ex-world champion).
There will be no need for shareholders money to be used to actually run the event as this will be self-funding by means of rider’s entries/bookings.
Investors will probably be thinking, what will I get in return for my investment. There will be three ways of getting a return, 1) discount to ride the actual event – 5% 2) discount on trips organised by ECE 5% 3) dividends.
Please note dividends will be paid out to shareholders by taking 50% of the event profit with the other 50% being re-invested for the following year.
Without going into too much detail here online if this is something you would like to know more about and be part of a new exciting project then please email me with contact details at email@example.com for a casual chat and then I can send on financial details.
The event commences from Bormio, you will be climbing straight away with 21kms ahead of you with an average gradient of 7%,which will lead you to the first feed station which is just 3km short of the top of the pass of the left.
We suggest you take on food and a rest before dropping down into Prato. After a careful decent circa 24km, you will then turn left and level out along a rolling terrain for circa 15km , upon which you will take a left turn and commence the climb of the Umbrial Pass. You will then cross the boarder back into Italy and circa 1km you will reach the 2nd feed station. You must arrive within 6 and half hours of the start, the cut is 12:30. Failure to arrive by the cut time means you will be eliminated from the event/results sheet. Should you wish to continue then there will be NO SUPPORT available.
By now you would have covered circa 76km , after you have been fed, watered and rested , U-turn and retrace your steps by dropping down the Umbrail Pass, when you reach the T-Junction turn right and retrace along the Vally road , then take right , signed STELVIO and commence the final climb of the Stelvio from the Parto side – a 24km climb to reach the finish line (third feed).
If at the 2nd feed before returning down the Umbrail Pass , you feel you have had enough then carefully descend down in the direction of Bormio to your hotel, but I am sure you would want to continue and complete this epic challenge you came to do.
Event Strat time – 06:30 ,
